Celebrating 150 Years of AMC
In 2026, the Appalachian Mountain Club embarks on a 2,000+ mile relay from Virginia to Maine — a pennant passed hand to hand, honoring 150 years of adventure, trail-building, and conservation. It echoes how AMC began in 1876: an invitation to explore the mountains together. The relay began on March 14, led mile by mile by AMC chapters and volunteers from Virginia to Maine.
