MicroTerry™ has a looped pile — the same structure as a traditional terry cloth towel — which makes it feel softer and more familiar. MicroSuede has a tightly woven flat surface that makes it lighter and faster-drying. If you want the plushest feel, go MicroTerry™. If you want to minimize pack weight, go MicroSuede. Both are made from recycled materials and both dry significantly faster than cotton.

The MicroSuede towels (Ultralight, Fitness, Bandana, Tiny, Changing Poncho) have a tight, smooth weave that sand has a hard time clinging to — a quick shake gets most of it off. MicroTerry's looped texture is more likely to hold onto sand. If you spend a lot of time on sandy beaches and hate the cleanup, MicroSuede is the better call.
